Warm-up and team news

Times are a guide from the published kick-off — always allow extra for engineering works and matchday road closures.

Getting there
- Sandhills station — Merseyrail station on the Northern line, around 15 minutes' walk along the dock road to the new ground.
- Liverpool city centre walk — A scenic 30-40 minute waterfront walk from the Pier Head along the docks for those who fancy it.
- Driving — The A5036 Dock Road runs straight past the stadium; expect heavy congestion given the ground's new capacity and limited local parking.
Safe away spots
- Ten Streets area bars — The regenerating docklands quarter near the stadium has a growing number of bars and food spots. Map
- Baltic Triangle — A short taxi or walk south, this creative quarter has excellent independent food and drink. Map
- Liverpool city centre — For the fullest range of options, the Pier Head and Albert Dock area are a 30-minute walk or short bus ride. Map

Lower-profile pubs, cafés and corners the locals keep to themselves.
The Baltic Fleet, Wapping
Historic waterside pub with its own microbrewery, a bit of a walk from the new ground but worth it.

Atmospheric and often overlooked by fans heading straight for the turnstiles.

Transport alert
Sunday engineering works
Sunday fixtures are the most likely to hit rail replacement buses into Liverpool. Check the route the week before and allow an extra hour.
Transport alert
Bank holiday network works
Easter and the May bank holidays are the heaviest engineering weekends of the year. May trips into Liverpool should be planned around a possible line closure.
Ground note
This is a new stadium in a still-regenerating dockland area — transport links and crowd flow are evolving each season, so allow extra time.
Ground note
Limited pubs immediately around the ground mean the walk in from the city centre gets busy; plan your pre-match stop in advance.
