Spring cruise season — April Saturdays with four ships in port mean severe dock-road traffic.

Walk from Southampton Central — Twenty-five minutes across the city; flat and signposted.
St Denys / Northam — St Denys station is a 15-minute walk and much quieter afterwards.
Parking — Use the city-centre multi-storeys; the streets around St Mary's are heavily restricted.

August away ends sell out early and summer engineering works are common. Book travel as soon as tickets drop — everyone is keen in week one.
